Mainely Makers Partnership

A Partnership on a Mission

Donald Oakes has been working hard to grow a unique maker’s space for youth and adults. A place where creativity, education and community can be fostered for the growth of young people and adults. Given some unfortunate circumstances, this mission was at risk of being thwarted. However, through digital and physical community engagement, a connection has been made in which Mainely Makers mission can continue. Through the partnership of Mainely Makers and Living Wells Farm and the broader community, we believe we can not only save this important activity but grow the reach in which we are able to invest in our community. If you are willing and able to help, we would welcome a conversation. Please fill out the form below or if you are prepared to help provide funds to get these programs launched at the farm, the scholarship fund is a great way to provide resources for us to function as not all family’s can afford the workshops. Thank you for taking the time to listen and support this important work, especially on behalf of the next generation!

A Message from Donald Oakes

Donald Oakes, founder of the custom wood working and collaborative community maker’s space in West Kennebunk, has partnered with Living Wells Farm. Here is a message from Don about this exciting new partnership.

Mainely Makers is excited to announce that in spite of the recent obstacles we’ve had to navigate, we are continuing to pursue our mission by any means necessary. After hearing about the recent difficulties with our facility, the Executive Director of non-profit Living Wells Farm Equine Assisted Services reached out to us, sharing our same vision. They believe in our mission — using woodworking to inspire creativity, build community, and teach meaningful, hands-on skills to the upcoming generation. With Living Wells’ extra space, Mainely Makers can move forward, collaborating with the organization to further the same values and mission that we both share. Although the background may look different, Mainely Makers will continue on track with our practice and mission, alongside Living Wells Farm. – Donald Oakes
